SupplyIt’s Advanced Production features enable locations to automate purchase, work, and requisition orders using local recipes, min/max thresholds, sales pressure, and perpetual inventory tracking.
Unlike traditional runtime estimates, Advanced Production uses real-time order objects and waste records to calculate actual stock on hand rather than relying on implied depletion.
Key Benefits
Local Recipe Control: Edit local recipes dynamically without altering historical report data.
Decimal Quantity Support: Enable non-integer order quantities for items measured by weight or volume.
Automated Order Generation: Restocker continuously analyzes inventory levels to create required Purchase, Work, and Requisition orders.
Accurate WIP Tracking: Schedule Work In Progress (WIP) production on specific days to increase or decrease stock levels when work actually occurs.
Precise Inventory Management: Manually adjust work and requisition orders to reflect exact quantities used or produced on any given day.
Inventory Impact Summary
Perpetual inventory levels automatically adjust based on the following transactions:
| Transaction Type | Effect on Inventory | Description |
| Purchase Orders | + (Increase) | Increases stock for the vendor item and its linked generic item. |
| Work Orders | + (Increase) | Increases stock on hand for the finished products being produced. |
| Sales Orders | - (Decrease) | Decreases stock when finished goods are sold. |
| Requisition Orders | - (Decrease) | Decreases stock for raw ingredients and packaging pulled for production. |
| Waste Records | - (Decrease) | Decreases stock for damaged, expired, or discarded items. |
Advanced Production Workflows
When operating an Advanced Production facility, three primary order types represent daily operations:
Work Orders: Serve as the foundation for manufacturing. Generating a work order increases stock for the finished goods listed.
Requisition Orders: Track raw ingredients and packaging needed to fulfill work orders, pulling directly from stock.
Recipe-Driven: Requisition quantities are derived directly from your location's recipes. If pulled quantities consistently deviate from expectations, audit your underlying recipes for accuracy.
Manual Adjustments: Requisition orders can be edited manually to reflect exact ingredient quantities pulled if they differ from system estimates.
Purchase Orders: Triggered automatically to replenish vendor stock when raw material levels drop.
Configuring the Restocker
Navigation: Location Console → Orders → Add Orders → Restock
The Restocker automates the order creation process based on product and recipe settings you configure:
Product Properties
Restrict quantities to discrete integer values:
Uncheck this option (set to
False) for items requiring decimal amounts, such as generic bulk items or vendor products purchased by weight or volume.
When checked, this item will be put on purchase orders in the restocking process:
Check this box for items that are purchased from a vendor. Leave it unchecked for items that are produced in-house.
Stock Levels (Min / Max):
Min Value: The reorder threshold. When perpetual inventory drops below this value, Restocker automatically creates an order.
Max Value: The target stock level. Restocker orders enough inventory to bring stock back up to this limit.
Recipe Properties
Weight % (Generic Products Only):
Defines the usage proportion across linked vendor items. The combined Weight % must equal
100%across all vendor products tied to a single generic item, regardless of supplier or item code.
Pro Tips & Tricks
Set Limits on Generic Items: Always define Min and Max stock values on the generic product, never on its associated vendor items.
Maintain 100% Weight Distribution: Ensure the Weight % total across all associated vendor items equals
100%to avoid calculation errors.Audit Ingredient Variance: If physical ingredient pulls consistently differ from requisition orders, verify that your recipe yields and unit conversions are accurate.
