Order Adjustment Guide

This article will teach you how to create and manage order percentage adjustments in Supplyit.

Overview

Suppliers and customers can apply percentage adjustments for dates when orders should not be delivered or to increase and decrease order quantities by a specific percentage. Adjustments created in advance apply automatically when orders are generated. If an adjustment is added after an order has already been generated, it must be manually applied.

Benefits

  • Closure Prevention: Prevents orders from being produced or delivered when a location is closed.

  • Event Flexibility: Allows suppliers and locations to adjust order volume for holidays, inclement weather, or seasonal shifts that impact forecasting.

Navigation

Click Activities -> Orders -> Adjustments in the left navigation menu.

Specifying Adjustment Criteria

Configure your adjustment settings using the following fields:

  • Order Type: Select the applicable order type (typically Sales for suppliers and Purchase for customers).

  • Contacts: Choose to apply the adjustment to all contacts or select a specific contact.

  • Dates: Enter the order dates the adjustment should apply to.

  • Shifts: Apply the adjustment to all shifts or select a specific shift.

  • Percent: Enter a positive or negative number to adjust quantities:

    • Enter -100 to stop an order or product delivery entirely.

    • Enter 100 to double order quantities.

  • Lock Status: Primary locations (typically suppliers) can lock adjustments to prevent recipient locations from modifying them.

  • Included Products: Adjustments apply to all products by default. To select specific items, uncheck the default box and select products using the product picker.

Note: Always click Save Changes after making modifications.

Tips & Best Practices

  • No Stacking: Adjustments cannot be stacked for the same products on the same day.

  • Multiple Product Adjustments: You can apply separate adjustments with different percentages on the same day as long as they apply to different products.

  • Correcting Adjustments: To change an existing adjustment on an order that was already generated, delete the original adjustment and delete the generated order. Then, create the new adjustment and generate a fresh order.

  • Quick Forecast Tuning: Customers using forecasting should use adjustments to modify order volumes quickly during unexpected spikes or drops in business.
